Mavrokolympos Reservoir Update
Recently they had to drain the Mavrokolympos Reservoir because it had sprung a leak. A couple of weeks have passed so we took the drone back to see how they had been getting on since the big empty.
Clear Blue Sea

The reservoir was emptied by the 23rd January. At the time, this had an effect on the surrounding sea, as a lot of silt and mud was washed out to sea. The seawater is now once again clear. Nothing much appears to be happening at the reservoir though.
Mirage

When I was flying the drone it looked like there was still some water in the reservoir. This is not actually the case. What you are seeing here is light reflecting off mud. This was unfortunate, as I had assumed that the fish in the reservoir were to be found here. A number of people asked over their fate, but I have absolutely no idea I'm afraid.
Muddy Waters

Presumably the leak has something to do with that construction in the middle of the reservoir near the dam.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they were waiting for the mud to dry sufficiently before proceeding with repair work. I hope that doesn't take much longer as the "rainy season" won't last for much longer.
Hopeful Boat

Given that nobody was doing any work at the time, we also drove up to the dam to get a closer look. It was there that I realised that what I had previously thought was water in the picture above was in fact just mud. I spotted this boat here too. I guess in happier times that is used by fishermen or fans of watersports.
