Kato Paphos Part 3 - Bar Street
In the third part of our look around Kato Paphos we turn the spotlight on Bar Street. Loved and loathed in equal measure, the area has certainly seen better days. Indeed, if you visit during the day, as we do in this article, you could be forgiven for thinking that it is closed. But there is still plenty of life there, as you shall see...
The Far Side

We are starting this blog on the far side of Bar Street. Firstly, I thought it would be nice to approach the Sea Front. And secondly, from this direction the sun is behind us, which makes for better pictures.

One Way

It is worth pointing out that this is a one way street. You can only drive down it away from Paphos towards Geroskipou. So if you want to follow us you will need to travel on foot.
Absent Friends

Almost immediately it becomes apparent that all is not well on Bar Street.
COVID Victim

It looks like this restaurant fell victim to the Pandemic. They received their last Tripadvisor review in October 2020, and made their last Facebook post soon afterwards. A shame, as it was very highly regarded.
One Careful Owner

This place has a very hopeful For Sale sign in the window.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
