Cyprus In Pictures - January 2024
Seafront Scene

As a rule I divide the Kalimera shots so that 50% are of the Seafront and Harbour, and 50% are elsewhere. I do this because the Seafront and Harbour pictures are always the most popular, but I think it is important to show what else Paphos has to offer too. There is so much more to see here than the Seafront, even though it looks very nice now.
Off Season Coral Bay

For instance, this is Coral Bay Beach. It probably looks different that what you are used to, if you are a holidaymaker. But this is what it looks like in January. There are no sunbeds or water sports for hire, though you may well see surfers if the waves are any size.
Sea You Beach Bar

Another popular tourist spot is the Sea You Beach Bar. There were renewed rumblings in the press in January, about the plans to build a new marina here. Personally I shall believe it when I see it. There have been renewed rumblings in the press about a new Paphos Marina since before we moved here. There are now also rumblings in the press about expanding the marina at Latsi.
Aphrodite's Birth Place

We also published a nice drone film showing Aphrodite's Birth Place. We didn't stipulate which of the structures was Aphrodite's Rock, yet people still felt the need to correct us.
Theo Sunset Bay Resort

I have come to respect the Kissonerga Coastline in the last couple of years. The lack of accessible beaches is a bit of a turn-off for many, but if you take the time to explore the Coast Path you will find an area rich in beautiful scenery. And there are some small sandy coves tucked away in the rocks. If you want your holiday to focus on more than just Paphos City, then the area would make a good base, being between Paphos and the Akamas.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
