Avakas Gorge
Take A Break

This bench provided the perfect place to take a break. It is also a good indication that you are still on the right trail!

Helpful Sign

You will also find a map waypoint marker here, and a handy sign indicating you are on the right path.
Multiple Routes

We shall soon be leaving the gorge, but there is one last challenge to overcome. We took the route through this bamboo. However, looking back after we had done so, I think a better route would have been to stick to the path following the stream.
Finally

When you reach this staircase, you know you are at the end of the trail through the gorge. From here you follow the path up through the hills until you are back in the Gorge Car Park. The remainder of the walk is completely different terrain, and a bit longer than the more direct route you have already come. So whether you decide to retrace your steps, or take the high road, so to speak, is up to you.
Taking The High Road

We chose to take the high road. We soon came across another warning sign, which makes sense considering the trail is a circular route, and can be followed in either clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
